100% PURE BENTONITE CLAY for SMALL ANIMALS

Of the many uses of bentonite clay is with animals. When taken internally, it doesn’t know if it’s in the body of a child, an adult or an animal. It goes to work attracting toxins, allergens, parasites and bacteria, while cleaning the intestinal tract. Compared to harmful and often expensive prescription drugs, natural clay is often a good option to consider and it is completely safe and non-toxic.

People have used our clay for dogs with arthritis, giardia, yeast infections, diarrhea, kidney disease, SARDS, allergies, itching, dental plaque and more. Other customers have used our clay for cats for vomiting, arthritis, bacterial infections, abscesses, poor appetite and more.

Our calcium bentonite clay powder is the same as our clay for dogs and other animals. This also means you and your pet can share the same package.

Topical Applications

There are several ways to give clay externally to your pets.

  • You can mix it with water in a glass container. Don’t allow the clay to touch metal or you’ll risk reducing it’s effectiveness. Apply it as a paste to itchy skin, bug bites or other skin maladies. Allow the clay to fully dry and then wash it off.
  • If a poultice is required for a more potent application, apply the paste to the area and wrap it carefully with wet gauze or cloth. Be very careful to monitor the wrap. Dampen and rewrap every two hours until the desired treatment has been achieved.
  • Add a 1/4 cup of Bentonite clay to a bath for a general detoxification.
  • For treating mastitis, apply a paste or mask to the affected area to help draw out the toxins in the body. Repeat hourly.

Internal Uses

Several reports state that canines have evolved to eat clay to counteract environmental and synthetic toxins, and to aid in recovering from sickness.

  • Add some bentonite clay to your pets water or give it orally with a dropper when he develops vomiting, diarrhea or other illness.
  • Calcium bentonite clay is effective for treating internal parasites.
  • Bentonite clay works great for detoxification of the liver and kidneys, which are prone to becoming overloaded.

How Much To Give

The beneficial qualities of bentonite clay can be achieved with 1/4 to 1/2 of a teaspoon daily mixed with your pet’s water or on his food. Due to bentonite clay’s absorbent qualities, fresh water must always be available to your dog during.

Contraindications

Clay shouldn’t be given orally in the following cases:

Constipation or impaction
High fat diets
During pregnancy and nursing
During a course of medication

Due to it’s absorbent qualities and negative charge, bentonite clay may affect the impact or efficacy of other treatments

The Difference between Sodium & Calcium Bentonite

Sodium Bentonite has a stronger negative charge. This means that Sodium Montmorillonite has a stronger vacuum for pulling in heavy metals and toxins that it comes into contact with. Furthermore the Sodium Bentonite swells more giving it the ability to adsorb and absorb more toxins pulling them into the interior layers of the clay and carrying the them out of the body through the feces.

Calcium Bentonite is an effective remineralizer. Calcium Bentonite will have some tiny particles small enough to pass through the colon wall into the bloodstream. There it will scavenge out toxins and leave behind vital minerals. Montmorillonite is a Silica based mineral and it is silica that allows calcium to pass through the outer portion of the bone to the interior where it is most needed.

Groundwater barrier

The property of swelling on contact with water makes sodium bentonite useful as a sealant, since it provides a self-sealing, low-permeability barrier. It is used to line the base of landfills to prevent migration of leachate, for quarantining metal pollutants of groundwater, and for the sealing of subsurface disposal systems for spent nuclear fuel. Similar uses include making slurry walls, waterproofing of below-grade walls, and forming other impermeable barriers, e.g., to seal off the annulus of a water well, to plug old wells.

Bentonite can also be "sandwiched" between synthetic materials to create geosynthetic clay liners (GCLs) for the aforementioned purposes. This technique allows for more convenient transport and installation, and it greatly reduces the volume of bentonite required. It is also used to form a barrier around newly planted trees to constrain root growth so as to prevent damage to nearby pipes, footpaths and other infrastructure. Farmers use bentonite to seal retention ponds

100% PURE BENTONITE CHIPS

Great for greywater or soft-water use. Removes Algae. It is 100% pure, free from added chemicals, emulsifiers or bulking agents.

Help get rid of decomposed organic carbon (the rotting matter in your pond), suspended algae (green water) and pollution.

Bentonite Chips benefits your Pond, Fountain or Water gardens in several ways. It provides valuable trace minerals including calcium, magnesium and other trace elements for improved bone and scale growth, blood clotting and reduced loss of sodium and potassium from fish blood. It contains essential silica for removing harmful toxins and heavy metals.Bentonite Chips also helps create an ideal habitat for your Pond, Fountain or Water garden.

The geometrically unique surface of the Bentonite Clay and the size or the particles is critical for bonding with and absorbing toxins such as heavy metals and pesticides that may enter your
Pond, Fountain or Water garden.

Bentonite Chips helps to maintain a clear, high quality water environment for your Pond, Fountain or Water garden.

Ponds

Ponds and Water gardens add a special dimension to the landscape by exuding serenity and attracting wildlife. However, building and maintaining a pond is not a simple endeavor. Preventing leaks is the top concern, but synthetic liners are very expensive for all but the smallest water features. Bentonite clay is an alternative way to line earthen ponds, and it's completely effective if installed correctly. The powdered material swells to more than 10 times its size when wet, sealing off tiny pore spaces to prevent water from percolating through the soil. Bentonite can be used to seal an existing pond that is not holding water or used at the outset to seal a freshly dug pond -- the process is essentially the same.

100% Pure Bentonite/Montmorillonite Chips removes harmful heavy metals including COPPER: Koi are very sensitive to low levels of copper. Help get rid of decomposed organic carbon (the rotting matter in your pond), suspended algae (green water) and pollution. Bentonite Chips has been used for thousands of years as a purification aid. Geologically Bentonite is a mineral rich volcanic ash that was deposited in sea water approximately 60 million years ago.Bentonite brightens the colors and the whites of Koi. While reducing algae. So your water is cleaner for your Pond, Fountain or Water gardens. What we don't offer; No fancy marketing ploys or catch phrases.

Types

Sodium bentonite

Sodium bentonite expands when wet, absorbing as much as several times its dry mass in water. Because of its excellent colloidal properties, it is often used in drilling mud for oil and gas wells and boreholes for geotechnical and environmental investigations. The property of swelling also makes sodium bentonite useful as a sealant, since it provides a self-sealing, low permeability barrier. It is used to line the base of landfills, for example. Various surface modifications to sodium bentonite improve some rheological or sealing performance in geoenvironmental applications, for example, the addition of polymers.

Calcium bentonite

Calcium bentonite is a useful adsorbent of ions in solution, as well as fats and oils. It is the main active ingredient of fuller's earth, probably one of the earliest industrial cleaning agents.

Calcium bentonite may be converted to sodium bentonite (termed sodium beneficiation or sodium activation) to exhibit many of sodium bentonite's properties by an ion exchange process. In common usage, this means adding 5–10% of a soluble sodium salt such as sodium carbonate to wet bentonite, mixing well, and allowing time for the ion exchange to take place and water to remove the exchanged calcium.[citation needed] Some properties, such as viscosity and fluid loss of suspensions, of sodium-beneficiated calcium bentonite (or sodium-activated bentonite) may not be fully equivalent to those of natural sodium bentonite. For example, residual calcium carbonates (formed if exchanged cations are insufficiently removed) may result in inferior performance of the bentonite in geosynthetic liners.

The main uses of bentonite are for drilling mud, binder (e.g. foundry-sand bond, iron ore pelletizer), purifier, absorbent (e.g. pet litter), and as a groundwater barrier. As of around 1990, almost half of the US production of bentonite was used for drilling mud.

Drilling mud

Bentonite is used in drilling fluids to lubricate and cool the cutting tools, to remove cuttings, and to help prevent blowouts. Much of bentonite's usefulness in the drilling and geotechnical engineering industry comes from its unique rheological properties. Relatively small quantities of bentonite suspended in water form a viscous, shear-thinning material. Most often, bentonite suspensions are also thixotropic, although rare cases of rheopectic behavior have also been reported. At high enough concentrations (about 60 grams of bentonite per litre of suspension), bentonite suspensions begin to take on the characteristics of a gel (a fluid with a minimum yield strength required to make it move). So, it is a common component of drilling mud used to curtail drilling fluid invasion by its propensity for aiding in the formation of mud cake.

 1. SOFT SKIN
One of the reasons to use bentonite clay is because it has an amazing ability to make your skin soft and smooth. I started using bentonite clay masks this past winter when my skin was rough and dry. While I expected the mask to make my skin clean, I was surprised by how soft my skin was. It felt like had exfoliated my skin! The silica in the clay is one of the biggest reasons it creates soft skin. Silica is a mineral that boosts collagen production, thereby giving you baby soft skin.

2. GLOWING SKIN
Another benefit of using bentonite clay masks is they make your skin glow. Bentonite clay increases circulation wherever it is applied. As a result, blood flows to your face and your healthy glow is restored! The great thing about bentonite clay is you do not have to wait long for it to make you skin glow. My skin was glowing after one use!

3. DETOXIFIES SKIN
One of the biggest reasons people use bentonite clay is for its detoxifying properties. Bentonite clay is unique in that it has negatively charged ions. The negative ions attract the positively charged toxins in your skin and pulls them out! The result of this detoxifying action is pure, clean skin.

4. ACNE TREATMENT
Bentonite clay masks are wonderful for clearing up acne. The mask absorbs excess sebum, which is the primary cause of acne. If you do use bentonite clay for acne, try not to get too excited. Using it too often can cause dryness and irritation. To get rid of acne and prevent dryness, stick to leaving it on for 15 minutes and using it twice a week.

5. SHRINKS PORES
I happen to have large pores on my nose and I discovered one of the benefits of using bentonite clay masks is they shrink pores. The clay tightens skin, which makes your pores look smaller. It is only temporary, but if you have an event to go to, doing the mask several hours beforehand will give you smaller pores!

6. INEXPENSIVE
Skincare products can be very expensive, but bentonite clay happens to be inexpensive. For around 10 dollars you can get a lot of bentonite clay powder. To make a mask, you just mix a little bit with water. A little goes a long way, so it lasts for a very long time. It can also replace several expensive skincare products, including other masks, exfoliators, and acne treatments.

7. NON-TOXIC
When you use bentonite clay you don’t have to worry about putting toxic ingredients on your skin. Many skincare products contain parabens and other questionable ingredients that you don’t want absorbing into your skin. Often synthetic ingredients can cause irritation and rashes. Bentonite clay is pure, and it is mineral rich, which means your skin is actually absorbing beneficial minerals! It also does not cause irritation, unless you are very sensitive. In which case, you can try leaving it on for less time.

Sodium Montmorillonite pulls heavy metals and toxins into the interior layers of the clay and carrying the them out of the body through the feces.

Calcium Bentonite, an effective remineralizer, will scavenge out toxins and leave behind vital minerals.

Yes, clay is safe for children. Our customers have used it on infants with very good results. For children under 50 pounds, give 1 teaspoon per day in 8 ounces of liquid. For children greater than 50 pounds, give 2 teaspoons per day in 8 ounces of liquid.

For children under 20 pounds, add 4 ounces of bath clay to running water in the tub. The child should not stay in the bath more than 5 minutes. Every child is different. Listen and observe for what is right for their individual constitution. For children between 20 and 50 pounds, add 4 to 6 ounces of clay to the bath and let the child bathe for between 5 and 10 minutes, depending on the child. For children greater than 50 pounds, one of our 8 ounce clay baths can be added to the water and the child can bathe for up to 10 minutes, depending on the child.
